1.1 Only persons aged 17 years or above on the day of the event may register and take part in the event.
1.2 All entrants must be medically fit, sufficiently trained and capable of completing the course.
1.3 The event is run under ARC rules.
2.1 All entries must be made through the official entry system.
2.2 Entries are non-refundable including in the event of cancellation or postponement due to circumstances outside the race director’s control.
2.3 Entries may not be transferred without prior approval and completion of the official transfer process.
2.4 Unauthorised transfer of race numbers may result in disqualification.
2.5 Entries are personal to the applicant and entry fees are non-deferrable.
2.6 The discounted entry fees are only available to registered members of athletic clubs with paid affiliation to EA or ARC for the current year.
3.1 Race numbers must be worn clearly on the front of the torso and remain visible at all times.
3.2 Numbers must not be altered or defaced.
3.3 Participants must not run using another person’s race number.
4.1 The course is multi-terrain and includes public roads, footpaths and trail sections.
4.2 Roads remain open to traffic at all times.
4.3 Participants must obey all marshal instructions.
4.4 The organisers reserve the right to alter the route if necessary for safety or operational reasons.
4.5 The course will close at 10:35am. Participants continuing beyond this time do so at their own risk and may no longer be supported by marshals or event services.
5.1 Medical support will be available at the finish area.
5.2 Participants who feel unwell must stop and seek assistance.
5.3 If a participant withdraws, they must inform a marshal or report to Race HQ immediately.
5.4 Headphones of any type (including bone-conducting headphones) are not permitted.
5.5 Dogs, pushchairs, scooters, bicycles or wheeled devices are not permitted.
5.6 Participants are encouraged to disclose any relevant medical conditions on the reverse of their race number and to ensure emergency contact details are completed. Participants are responsible for carrying any personal medication required during the event.
6.1 Participants must act in a courteous and responsible manner at all times.
6.2 Runners must respect other path users, spectators, volunteers and local residents.
6.3 Littering is not permitted.
6.4 Participants must comply with all applicable anti-doping rules in force under the event permit. The use of prohibited substances or methods is strictly forbidden. Any participant found to be in breach of anti-doping regulations may be disqualified and reported to the relevant governing body.
Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
7.1 Overall prizes will be awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers.
7.2 Age category prizes will be awarded as listed in the race information.
7.3 Age category winners will receive a certificate issued after the event.
7.4 Prizes may not be combined.
7.5 Race timings for all race positions and prizes will be based on the start/finish clock not the race timing chips.
7.6 In the event of any dispute, the decision of the race referee shall be final.
8.1 The organisers reserve the right to amend the event format, route, start time or venue if necessary for safety or operational reasons.
8.2 The organisers reserve the right to cancel, postpone or curtail the event due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including severe weather, safety concerns, land access restrictions, public health requirements or emergency service direction.
8.3 If the event is cancelled or postponed, entry fees are non-refundable. Any refund, deferral or transfer offered will be at the sole discretion of the organisers, taking into account costs already incurred.
8.4 The organisers shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by participants, including travel or accommodation.
9.1 Participation in the event is entirely at the entrant’s own risk.
9.2 By entering, participants confirm they are medically fit and capable of completing the event.
9.3 The organisers, volunteers, sponsors and landowners shall not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury arising from participation in the event, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
9.4 Participants are responsible for their own safety while using public roads and shared pathways and must comply with the Highway Code and marshal instructions.
9.5 The organisers accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
9.6 Nothing in these conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
10.1 Photographs and video footage may be taken during the event for promotional, publicity and archival purposes by the organisers or authorised third parties.
10.2 By entering the event, participants consent to the use of such images in race reports, social media, websites and future promotional material relating to the event or Leighton Fun Runners.
10.3 Images may be stored securely by Leighton Fun Runners for club records and historical archive purposes.
10.4 By entering, participants consent to the publication of their name, race number and finishing time in official results and associated publications.
11.1 Leighton Fun Runners is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all participants and volunteers.
11.2 A designated safeguarding lead will be present on race day. Any concerns should be reported to Race HQ.
11.3 The organisers operate a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment, discrimination or abusive behaviour.
11.4 Concerns will be handled in accordance with the club’s safeguarding procedures.
