Welcome to the Ufton Cycle Sportive 2018!

Now in its second year, the Ufton Cycle Sportive is a charity bike ride aimed at all ages and abilities and takes in some of the most stunning scenery that West Berkshire has to offer.

By taking part, you'll be helping the disadvantaged young people who visit Ufton Court on our Ufton Adventure programmes.

Ufton Adventure raises the aspiration and attainment of disadvantaged and disabled children through outdoor learning in our woodland cabins and grounds. The children we support often live in areas of high social deprivation and many live with complex issues in their home lives. In addition, problems relating to children’s mental health are increasing and we see high numbers of children experiencing stress, anxiety and behavioural issues.

Through repeated residential visits, the young people that visit us develop skills to meet the challenges they face at home and in school, returning as more successful learners and are able to take control of their lives.

We desperately need a new woodland teaching space, particularly in the evenings and during wet weather. Costing £675,000, we have planning permission to build a Viking Longhouse in our woodlands.

We’re therefore asking all participants to help us raise money for this amazing new space. Your entry fee will be covering the cost of the event. So to help us make a difference, we would love for all participants to get sponsored to take part. If every participant reached £100 in sponsorship, the £25,000 raised could pay for an industrial kitchen in the Longhouse, or the plastering and insulation!  There will be a prize for the person who raises the most sponsorship money.

The Routes

This year, the Ufton Sportive will be starting from the exclusive Englefield Estate. We’ve got two brand new routes to tempt pros and families alike, while taking in some fantastic scenery.

• 55 mile challenge route – 9am start (in waves)
• 25 mile family route – 10am start (in waves) – suitable for children 10-16 (if accompanied)
