DESCRIPTION

The Paws for a Cause 5K is coming to Rockford, IL for a 5K Run/Walk. This Family/Dog Friendly event will benefit Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary. The event is sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka and their Vodka for Dog People program. Get this event on your race calendar as a morning of fun is in store...all to help support our furry friends.

VIRTUAL RACE DETAILS

Not able to make Race Day but still want get some bling and support the charity? Then registering for the Virtual Race is just for you!! The Virtual Race can be run (or walked) anytime and anywhere…even indoors on a treadmill Simply register as a Virtual Runner, complete the distance anytime you desire and email us your results (be honest) to post. We will mail you a complete Paws for a Cause 5K goodie bag including T-Shirt, Finishers Medal, Race Bib and other Tito’s swag within 15 days of the conclusion of the event. (NOTE: Virtual participants are not eligible for Finishers and Age Group Awards)

POST RACE FESTIVITIES

Post Race Social will be held at The Olympic Tavern follwoing the Run/Walk. They are located at 2327 N Main St in Rockford. They are dog-friendly on their deck/patio. Plan on making your way over to redeem your Tito's drink ticket with your dog and stick around and order some lunch...and maybe another Tito's!! Please note that they do not open until 11:00 AM. We thank them for their hospitality...be sure and thank them while you are there.

NOAH'S ARK ANIMAL SANCTUARY

We will be running to raise awareness and funds for Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary. Each year hundreds of animals come to Noah’s Ark in need of a warm bed, good meal and most importantly a forever home. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to ensure each animal receives the best care possible during his/her stay. We receive no government funding and rely on the support and kindness from our community, private donations, requests, fund raising events, grants and volunteer help to complete our mission. We are a No-Kill shelter and work to preserve life whenever possible. Our vision is to secure a safe environment for all companion animals. We envision a world where all people and their pets live healthy, happy, and long lives together.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This scenic out and back route begins and ends in Meryhealth Sportscore One and will follow the Rock River Recreational Trail.

RACE DAY DETAILS:

The run starts promptly at 9:00 AM. Check-in and on-site registration begins at 7:30 AM. We recommend arriving early and giving yourself enough time get your race packet and get to the start line. We ask that runners start in the front, with walkers and those with strollers and dogs start to the back. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is a dog friendly event, however all dogs must be leashed at all times during the event. By registering and having a dog in attendance, you assume all liability and release all sponsors, organizers and municipalities from any liability arising from your pet’s actions.

PARKING:

There is ample parking in the MercyHealthcare Sportscore complex area..

AWARDS:

All participants will receive a custom finishers medal. The top three male and female will be recognized as well as top male and female in predetermined age groups.

PRE RACE PACKET PICKUP

There will not be a pre-race pickup. Packet pickup will begin at 7:30AM on Race Day at the Race Venue.
