THE RACE

Newcastle (Staffs) AC will be hosting the Newcastle 10k road race on 3rd April 2016 , starting at 10.00 am.

Although this is only the fourth time the race has been run as a 10K, its predecessor the Newcastle 7 took place for 40 years. The course has been changed in order to remove the section at Garners Crossroads, making it safer for both competitors and marshals. This popular road race forms part of the North Staffs Road Runners League and is one of the longest running races in the North Staffordshire area. This year it is also the Staffordshire 10K Championship race.

Starting outside Newcastle College, the race winds its way up the tough but rewarding Black Bank before descending into Silverdale. The route then goes along the old railway line for a fast run into the finish.

Numbers can be collected before the start from 8am from the clubhouse.

Prizes for first 5 men, first 3 ladies and all the usual vet categories!

Team Awards – Club colours MUST be worn: Men – 4 to count, Ladies – 3 to count.
