UNBOUND GRAVEL DASH SERIES (Short Distance)
The perfect introduction to gravel racing. The Dash delivers a shorter, exciting ride across rugged terrain, designed for newcomers, weekend warriors, and riders who want a taste of the Unbound spirit without the full endurance test. Short in distance, but big in adventure.
UNBOUND GRAVEL QUEST SERIES (Mid Distance)
A true test of endurance and determination. The Quest pushes riders beyond comfort zones with challenging mid-distance routes, offering the ideal balance of speed, stamina, and grit. For those ready to embrace the heart of gravel adventure.
UNBOUND 100 MILE GRAVEL SERIES

RACE2THESKY: Your Season's Ascent
Start your season on a VERY HIGH note with the second edition of the ultimate mountain biking adventure! The RACE2THESKY returns on February 7th, 2026, starting at 7:00 am from Uitzicht Game Lodge, Fouriesburg in the Eastern Free State. Conquer the heights and set the tone for an incredible year of riding.
MATSA: A Journey Through History and Grit
The MATSA returns for its 7th edition on Saturday, March 28th, 2026, at Kandiri Game Lodge. This iconic race starts at 7:00 am and will once again push your limits as you traverse the challenging and breathtaking routes through the historic battlefields of South Africa's Free State and Northern Cape.
Get ready for the 3rd running of the SUNGAZER. Join us on May 30th, 2026 in Bloemfontein for an unforgettable cycling adventure. The race kicks off at 7:00 am, offering a thrilling journey through the stunning landscapes of Central South Africa.
RACE2THEKAROO: An Epic Karoo Odyssey
Get ready for the 4th edition of the RACE2THEKAROO. Join us on August 29th, 2026, at 7:00 AM at Klipkraal Farm Stall, Hopetown for an journey through the breathtaking Karoo landscapes of the Northern Cape. Discover the vast beauty and unique challenge of this iconic region.
BATTLE OF THE BIKES: An Epic Battle
Mark your calendars for the Battle of the Bikes on October 3rd , 2026! Hosted at the Jacobsdal Inn. This eagerly anticipated event starts at 7:00 am and offers a experience for professional cyclists and enthusiastic hobbyists alike. Ride through history amidst the scenic battlefields between Jacobsdal, Kimberley and Bloemfontein.
Series Competition: How the Series Works
• Riders must stick to the distance they enter. If you register for the 100 Mile Gravel Series, you cannot switch to the Dash or Quest distances — entries are fixed per distance.
• Points are accumulated based on performance within each distance to crown the UNBOUND Gravel Series Champion in each distance category.
• Each distance offers its own level of challenge, camaraderie, and adventure, ensuring every rider experiences the true spirit of gravel cycling, and does not include E Bikes.
Series Competition
• Points System: Riders earn points for their performance at each event in their chosen distance.
Categories: Open to mountain bikes and gravel bikes. E-bikes are excluded.
• Series Winners: The cyclist with the highest accumulated points at the end of the season in their distance category will be crowned the UNBOUND Gravel Series Champion in their category, celebrating their dedication, skill, and perseverance across the season.
