UK INTER COUNTIES CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The first 6 finishers in the Shropshire County Cross Country Championships will be automatically selected for the above event which will take place on Saturday 7^th March 2026 at Wollaton Park Nottingham. If athletes automatically selected are unable to compete the next finishers will be contacted in order of placing on 3^rd January.

The above selection criteria applies to the following age groups.

If you finished in the first 6 in one of the above age groups you will be contacted about selection soon after the County Championships.

2 discretionary places will be held for anyone who would have placed in the first six but was unable to compete at the County Championships due to illness or minor injury on the day. A decision on these places will be made by the selectors in mid-January.

If you wish to be considered for one of these places it is important that you email the selectors soon after 3^rd January. In the event of no discretionary places being awarded the other two places in a team will be selected from the finishers on 3^rd January, as detailed above. 

Reserves

Shropshire can also enter a further four athletes as reserves. If you are not officially selected but finish in the top 12 you may well be contacted as a reserve.
