- Your age on the 31st of December, 2024, will be the basis of which age group you will belong. Example: If you were born in 1984, your age for this event is 40 years old.
- A minimum of 5 competing athletes per category is required to award a podium. Categories with lower participation numbers will be combined at the organizer's discretion.

RACE RULES AND OTHER INFO
Registration, Disclaimer Form & Race Pack Collection.
- Pre-registration is needed to enter this event (Registration Link at the bottom of this page.)
- Timing Chip collection will start Saturday, 12th October, at 04:45 am.
- After signing the Disclaimer Form, you will receive a timing chip with an ankle strap.
- Volunteers will help with body number marking.
- Download the Disclaimer Form by Clicking Here. (Please Print, Sign, and Submit to us upon signing on.)
Timing System, Timing Chip, and Ankle Strap.
- We will use electronic timing to give you Swim, Run, and Transition times.
- You will be issued a timing chip attached to an ankle strap.
- Please use the timing chip given to you at registration - any other timing chip will not work.
- You must attach the Ankle Strap with the timing chip to your LEFT ankle.
- Timing points are located at the start, entry/exit to the transition zone, and finish.
- We will collect the timing chip from you at the finish line.
- You must return your chip to the finish, even if you withdraw. Otherwise, we will think you are still out there racing.
- If you don’t return your timing chip, you will be liable for a fee of QAR 500 - so please remember to return it.
Transition Zone
- On race day, the transition zone will be open from 4:45 am for athletes to prepare their area until 5:30 am. It will close promptly.
- Only racing competitors will be allowed through the transition area during the race.
- A plastic bin with corresponding race numbers will be provided where you can place your running shoes & swim gear.
- Please be considerate of other competitors. Other items not used during the race should be removed to keep the transition as clear as possible.
Run Regulation
- The run route is in a clockwise direction.
- Chest and thighs must be covered by shirt/shorts or tri-suit. Tri-suit zippers must not be unfastened.
- iPods or similar headphone devices are not allowed.
- Body number markings must always remain visible when running.
- There are aid stations on the route.
- Avoid littering on the run route.
Swim Regulation
- The course is always anti-clockwise. Pass with the swim buoys on your left shoulder.
- A wetsuit is forbidden.
- Only swim goggles or masks are permitted. No other swim aids of any kind are permitted.
- Only official lifeguards on kayaks and rescue jet skis are allowed on the swim course. Swimmers may use the kayaks and jet skis for aid should they require assistance so long as there is no forward momentum, which would result in disqualification.
- Please use brightly colored swim caps.
Hydration
- Please stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids in the days leading up to the race. Remember to continue to take on fluids in the morning before the start.
- There will be water available from aid stations on the run course.
Weather
- You must be aware of the weather conditions during the race. It is expected to be hot with very little if any, shade.
- First aiders will be on standby throughout the race, but you must race sensibly in such conditions.
- If you get headaches or feel dizzy and nauseous, you may be suffering from heat exhaustion. Listen to your body. Common heat exhaustion symptoms include confusion, muscle cramps, heavy sweating, headaches, nausea/vomiting, and dizziness. If you become aware of these symptoms, then seek medical help. Talk to the nearest volunteer who can help you get attention.
Ceremony
- The First three athletes in all race categories must attend the ceremony to be eligible for prizes. The ceremony will be held 30 minutes, at the latest, after the last athlete crosses the line.
Result
- After the event, results will be available as soon as possible. Any queries relating to them should be emailed to qataritriathlonclub@gmail.com by Monday after the event. After this time, all results will be considered final and complete
AWARDS
- Finishers Medals will be given to all who will finish the race.
- Podium Medals for the Top 3 winners of each Age Category.
- Old Doha Port generously provides us with Prize Money for the Overall Winners (see Prize Table below).
