Get ready for the Welwyn 10K at Panshanger Park on Sunday, 30 June 2024.

This is the second ever 10k in historic Panshanger Park. 

The following elements are included in 2024 (subject to change):

  • Race bib (with integrated timing chip)

  • Scenic 10k single circuit course
  • Unique Great Oak Finisher's Medal
  • Race village with refreshments
  • Baggage drop
  • Awards ceremony
  • Downloadable finisher certificate
  • Drink stations on course and at the finish
  • Medical provision at start, finish and on course
  • Course safety – signposted km markers and enthusiastic marshals
  • Toilets at Race HQ

We are delighted to to be able to bring back the Junior Run. The 2k junior event is open to children from 4 to 14.
Adults are welcome to run with their children but they will not be timed.

Event Schedule

08:00 - Car parking and information area open for race number pick up.  Baggage store opens.

09:20 - Call to the Start area

09:30 – Start of the Senior race.

09:45 - Start of the 2k Junior Run

10:45 - Trophy presentations

Race Numbers

Please allow enough time to collect your number from the registration area near the start. Your timing chip will be attached to the back of your number. Please do not remove it, bend it or cover it with a jacket or you may not register a time. Pin your number to the front of your running vest/top.

Car Parking

We are trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Please try to car share where possible. Entry to the parking area is via the North Lodge entrance on the B1000. Parking is free and is adjacent to the Start/Finish.

Minimum Age

Please note there’s a minimum age of 15 years on the day of the race for the 10K race. 

Changing and Toilet Facilities

There will be mobile toilets available in the park near the information stand. There will be no changing facilities.

Baggage

A supervised baggage area is available in the start area. Please note that all kit storage is at the owner’s risk.

Headphones

The use of standard headphones are not permitted. However, headphones using bone conduction technology can be used. It is vital that runners are able to hear instructions given by our marshals at all times.

Timing

The race time clock will be at the finish line and all finishers will get a chip time (time from when you cross the start line to the finish line) and a gun time (time from the start gun to the finish). Race timing is organised by www.racesonline.uk.

Results

Results will be available in real time and on this website. Finishers will receive an SMS and email with their times and finishing position.

Presentation

Presentation of prizes will be made as soon as practicable once the award categories have been filled. We expect this to be approximately 10:45am.

Trophies will be awarded to:

10K Race:

  • Top 3 Male and Female.
  • First 3 runners in the following categories: Ladies: Vet 40 and 50, Men: Vet 40 and 50.
  • First 2 runners in the following categories: Ladies: Vet 60 Men: Vet 60.
  • First runner in the following categories: Ladies: Vet 70 Men: Vet 70.
  • First runner under 20: Male and Female.
  • Team Award - Male and Female - 3 in a team. Total time. 

2K Race:

  • First boy and first girl.

Race Cancellation

In the event the race can’t be run due to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers, all proceeds, less costs incurred, will be donated to charity. There are no refunds or deferals.

Entry Fee: £20.00. £2 discount applied if registered with a UKA/ARC running club.
Junior Run entry fee: £3
