2024 TYDFILIANS ROMAN RUN - Approx. 15.77 Miles / 2008' of climb

IMPORTANT NOTE: This event is a charity event, all proceeds from it go to supporting the Mayor of Merthyr Charity Appeal.

The option of transferring or amending your entry closed on 31/08/2024 at 6PM. No further changes are possible.

T-shirts - change of size no longer possible
The option to change your t-shirt size is no longer available - the race organiser has ordered and taken delivery of all the t-shirts in the requested sizes. You can of course wait until the last runner finishes to collect your shirt, the organisers may well have some other sizes left over at that point.

Coach from finish to start
The change coach option is no longer available, all coaches are booked and full. There may however be space on the day if anyone fails to turn-up.

Pre-booked place on coach transport from finish to start - be at Cyfarthfa Castle, Merthyr Tydfil for 9:30AM. See RACE FINISH below for address and post code. No changes to bus option are allowed after 31st July 2024.

RACE START / RACE START HQ

Race start time: 12:00 (Noon)

• The race registration area will have three desks defined alphabetically by surname
• Pickup your race number, which includes the timing chips affixed to the back of it
• IMPORTANT - please write your name / emergency contact and medical information on the rear of the number
• There are 4 holes provided at the corners of the race number for safety pins
• Secure the race number to your outer layer of clothing, facing to the front

RACE NUMBERS: will be assigned on 30th August 2024 after the online entry system closes and then published on the 'PARTICIPANTS' page above. Noting your race number will speed up the on the day registration pickup.

WEATHER FORECAST

The weather in Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil can be quite different due to their locations, likewise the weather 'over the top' can also be different. Please ensure you dress appropriately for the conditions.

RACE ROUTE AND PROFILE

A challenging 15.77 miles with 2,008 feet of climb (figures are approximate). 

• Water stations - there will be five water stations
• Lead bike - 7 miles to finish
• Tail-end runner - Start to Finish
• first aid support
• Welsh Athletics licensed
• 3 miles to 7 miles - the scenery is stunning - the best 4 miles you will ever do!

RACE MEMENTO - T-SHIRT

• You will be given the size you selected when you entered, no changes are allowed to size after 31st July 2024
• IMPORTANT - If the entry has been transferred, you will be given the size that the original entrant selected

ENTRY CHANGES - including transferring an entry

• no refunds can be given for injuries/can't make the race etc... no deferrals, but transfers will be allowed nearer the race date - an email was sent out in July 2024 with details of how to do this.

PRESENTATIONS

Will take place as soon as possible after all the category winners have finished. As the race is organised for charity, there are only the following awards.

Best option is to keep an eye on the Roman Run facebook page, people might offer them for transfer if they cannot do the race,  but we do not get involved with it, it's up to the two athletes to sort out.
