17/11/2023 | Singleton, Australia 2023 NSW Schools MTB Team Championships

The 2023 Singleton Teams Event has been postponed until the 17th of November. See you all then!

The event is a relay format for both primary and secondary students.  Each team will have one rider on the track at a time and will have the chance to swap riders each lap. The team that completes the most amount of laps in the given time wins. Teams should be made up of 2-3 riders from the same school. Riders who join from different schools will be eligible for the podium prize, but wont take the “positional plate” and school points.

Primary Students will have a 90-minute race. A rider will be able to start a final lap right up until the 90-minute timer goes off. Secondary Students will have a full 180 minutes of racing with riders being able to go out for another lap until 180 minutes of racing is complete.

Normal $25 entries close Sunday night at Midnight before a $10 late entry fee will kick in. Online registration will be briefly closed during Monday morning as names, categories and plate numbers are sent off to the printers for custom plates.

Course map and description

The Singleton mountain bike trails are fast, flowy and are not very technical so can be ridden by riders of all abilities. There is only a small amount of climbing each lap which is why this is a popular mountain bike destination. Primary and Secondary students have different courses. The primary course can almost be completely observed from one location and has been kept small to allow for faster lap times. The secondary course has a longer loop that takes riders further out the back where there are some really fun jumps and berms.

The race will start in a grassy field west of the event village and will enter the single track near transition. This wide section of the course will allow riders to sort themselves out before the single track where it is more difficult to pass.

Please note on race day, the paddock will be opened closer to the start line and parking will be available at the event centre.

The Primary Course is 2.8km in length with 40vm of climbing.

The Secondary Course has a distance of 4.5km and 61vm of climbing.
