Join us for the Third Annual Penguins 5K presented by PNC Bank benefiting the Penguins Goals Foundation! The Penguins Goals Foundation aims to remove the barriers on and off the ice by supporting and creating programs to make youth sports more accessible, to advocate for education, and offer support to Northeastern Pennsylvania communities and their programming.

All registered participants will receive a free voucher for a 2023 Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins home game, Penguins 5K T-shirt, and a finisher puck. There will be top prizes for overall male and female and age group awards.

 

  • Race Begins Saturday August 26th @ 9am
  • Pre Registration Ends 8/13 @ 11:59pm - $35
  • Virtual Race Registration is $45
  • Standard Registration and Same Day Registration is $45 - Ends @ 8:30am
  • Race Check-in / Packet Pickup Begins 8/26 @ 7:30am

  • Parking will be available inside the gate. 
  • Running Awards - Top 3 Male and Female Finisher receive trophy, Top 3 Age Groups Awards in each category - 19 and Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
  • All participants will receive a finisher puck


Parking Info and Route Details

Parking will be located at 59 Parry St. Luzerne, PA. 18709. Should the lot fill up, there is street parking around the location and the parking lot of Big Lots is available.

The race will begin right outside of 59 Parry St. on the road. The road continues for a brief time to the start of the trail head. You will be on rail trail the majority of the time. It is a relatively smooth trail, but please be aware of your footing as there are some uneven surfaces. The course will be an out and back and the turn-around point is at 1.55 miles from the start. Please do not follow the wooden trail markers and only our race mile marker signage. There will be a sign indicating the turn-around point. A map of the course is below:
