The Route

The Hometown Heroes 5K Walk / Run

The perfect route for individual runners, walkers and families as the entire route traverses Kirby Park and a section of the Luzerne County Levee Trail, never to encounter traffic. After the turn-around point, participants will be routed along the lower section of Nesbitt Park through our "Hero Mile" as they return to Kirby Park for the finish. The Hero Mile will be lined with representatives and vehicles from our local military and first-responders - Police, Fire and EMS - creating a unique feature for both participants and spectators and an opportunity to connect with our region's everyday heroes.
