Welcome Word

Dear Runner, Welcome to the registration for the ‘Shuttle Relay Run’ organized by The Ultimate Challenge. We are delighted that you are interested in the second edition of ‘The Shuttle Relay Run’ which will be held on the beautiful boulevard strip of the Island of Aruba on 13th of Augustus 2023.

 

Criteria to participate 

In order to participate in this competition, each team must consist of a maximum of three participants. 

Given the criteria to form a team of three runners, it is possible to register as a male, female or mixed team

Here are the two categories in which your team could register:

- Open category (Male, Female & Mixed Team)

- Corporate category (Male & Female Team) The Participants should be working in the same company (Co-workers)

Due to the challenge of this event each runner must have at least a pace of 5.72 miles per hour. This pace is equivalent to a 6 min 30 sec per kilometer.

The minimum age for this event is 18 (YoB 2005)

The entry fee for this race is  AWG. 105.00 per team ( AWG. 35.00 per person)

Bib Number Pick and date

If you registered online, You need to pick up your Bib Number on Saturday, August 12 from 12:00 to 15:00 at the SUBWAY Palm Beach, Noord.

Your Registration Confirmation Email has to be shown at bib pick up. 

 

The organization

For the smooth running of the organization, each team should be present not later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the race which is at 6:00 a.m.

At 5.50 a.m. the 10K runner must be ready at the starting line. The five-, three- and one-minute warnings will be given before the start of the race. The race will start by firing a gunshot or air horn.

The second and third runners are allowed to perform their warm up in the assigned warm up area. As soon as the first or second runner is making his/her entree to the finish line, runner two/three should be waiting in the transition zone. Each runner that comes in, must pass the belt with the bib number to the second and third runner.

By passing the finish line the last runner of the team should  hand in the belt to the volunteer of the organization.

 

Awards

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top two of each category.

The second place will be awarded if the participating category has at least three teams.

 

Route

The start and finish will take place at the Harbour Arena. As soon as the athlete find himself/herself on the public road outside the Harbour Arena, he should stay on the public road till the Costa Linda hotel. 

From that point on the athlete should continue on the linear park till the assigned turning points for the 10K, 8K and 6K run.

After reaching the turning point, each runner will be directed by his way back to a route on the  beach. The final point on the beach will be at the Casa del Mar Hotel. From this point on the athlete must take the public road to the roundabout at Alhambra Casino to then take the linear park to his right side and all the way to the Harbour Arena.

Refreshment

There will be no water stations on the route. You should bring your own fluids by using a camel pack or handheld water bottle.

By reaching the finish line, each athlete will be provided with refreshment and breakfast.
