The race starts in Hampson Park and leads out on to Fairlands Way where it takes a single loop around the northern field of Fairlands Valley Park. It leads along Fairlands Way into King George V Park where there will be a water station. From the park, runners will be directed across Ditchmore Lane before joining Lytton Way cycleway. This leads beside the historic bowling green and High Street before passing along the Avenue. The exit from the Avenue has a narrowed opening so take care as you pass through it. The route passes the Oval shopping centre before returning into Hampson Park through the east entrance.
Each kilometre will be clearly marked throughout the course. Race signs will also be positioned at regular intervals throughout the course directing runners where appropriate. Runners should proceed straight ahead on the route unless told to turn by one of the race marshalls or one of the signs.
Drinks will be available in recyclable cups at approximately 5km in King George V Park and in recyclable cups at the finish. If the weather is hot there will be an additional water station at around 7km..
