EXSS Off Road Triathlon

EXSS X-Tri began its life at the stunning Lake Leschenaultia, Chidlow two years ago. It was the most loved race of the season for those that did it.

After 4 years racing on the road, we head to the dirt trails at Lake Leschenaultia. Come and see a fantastic Off-Road Triathlon at the most beautiful of venues. Being only 50 km from the centre of Perth, it makes it the most accessible Cross Triathlon in the State.

We have once again been awarded the honour of the World Triathlon, World Championship Qualifying Event (WQE) status for Off Road Triathlon.  Points can be gained for the World Triathlon, Multisport World Championships in Townsville, Queensland for 2024.

Triathletes will get to swim in the glorious, freshwater Lake Leschenaultia. They then will take to the new mountain bike trails that have recently been constructed by the Shire of Mundaring. Lots of single track with jumps and B- lines (for those with a little less of an adventurous spirit) with multiple places to pass and take in the great Western Australian bushland.

A fantastic lap course is being used so athletes can be seen numerous times by their friends, family and spectators. From there it is on to the Lake Loop trail which wraps around the Lake to finish the day.

• 1km Swim, 20 km Bike, 6km Run
  • Swim 2 x 500 m laps, Bike 2 x 10 km laps, Run 2 x 3 km laps

SHORT COURSE

• 500m Swim, 10km Bike, 3km run
  • Swim 1 x 500 m lap, Bike 1 x 10 km lap, Run 1 x 3 km lap

GENERAL RACE INFORMATION​ ​

• There will be an aid station on the run course.
• As with all EXSS Events there will be post-race refreshments, always something that is very much
• looked forward to by all athletes.
• Medals from EXSS Events will also be awarded to the first three in each of the categories male and
• female of the Long Course and Short Course.
• Prize money for Open athletes will be provided by EXSS Events and will be paid to the top 5 open
• athlete’s male and female.

TIMING AND RESULTS

WASE Timing uses live results so they will be available at the conclusion of the race.  Splits for each leg will be available.

RACE DAY COMPETITION RULES    ​

• No Cycle passing on the left at all.
• No littering on the course.
• Sportsmanship needs to be practiced at all times.

We are working closely with Venues and Stakeholders to ensure a safe return to racing, as the situation is changing constantly we will update information as it comes to hand.  COVID - 19 has changed race day procedures for the future, small adjustments will have to be made by athletes, volunteers, race organisers, spectators and race venues, but we are all working hard to put forward the best race experience possible.  If the event is cancelled due to COVID 19 will postpone or refund all but $5 of your entry.
