EXSS Sprint Duathlon - WA State Championships
EXSS Sprint Duathlon kicks off the competitive racing season with the WA State Championship Titles up for grabs, along with points for both Senior and Junior State Series titles and also World Qualifying Event points for Multisport World Championships, 2023.
There is something for everyone, with three different distance duathlons, which is perfect for everyone looking to join the Multisport family. Simply choose the distance that you would like to compete in, then get training. A few age restrictions apply for the kids, so please ensure you select the right age group for your child. You can also get a mate together and enter as a team. Two times the fun!!

# ALL CURRENT TWA MEMBERS ENTERED IN THE LONG COURSE ARE IN CONTENTION FOR STATE SERIES POINTS AND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
SENIOR STATE SERIES
The 2022/23 State Series Competition will allow for members to accumulate points towards the Triathlete of the Year Award (TOTY) across nine (9) races, based in both metro and regional WA. Points will be allocated across the 5 year age group from 20-24 up to 70+ to the top ten (10) members in each category. You must be a member at the time of competing and your best seven (7) results will count towards your tally for TOTY STATE SERIES RACE AND POINTS.
LONG COURSE - COURSE DESCRIPTION
The first run will consist of 2 x 2.5km laps heading out over the pedestrian bridge and onto the event path -( there is an aid station located 615m out ) before turning at the 1.25km turn heading back over the bridge to the run turn and heading back out on a 2nd lap. Once the second lap is complete, athletes head into transition and out onto the 3 lap, bike 20km bike course. Athletes will head up the event road past the car bridge then left onto the event path a full lap then left, back onto the event road to transition once they have finished the 3rd lap, head back onto the island by turning left and back into transition to head out on the final 2.5km run before heading to the finish line.

JUNIOR STATE SERIES
The 2022/23 Junior State Series Competition will allow for members to accumulate points towards the Triathlete of the Year Award (TOTY) across five (5) races, based in both metro and regional WA. Points will be allocated across the top ten (10) members in each category 12-13 years, 14-15 years, 16-19 years. You must be a member at the time of competing and your best four (4) results will count towards your tally for TOTY.
BOLT COURSE - COURSE DESCRIPTION
The first run will consist of 1 x 2.5km laps heading out over the pedestrian bridge and onto the event path-( there is an aid station located 1.25 km run turn ) before turning at the 1.25km turn heading back over the bridge and heading into transition and out onto the 2 laps bike 12km bike course. Athletes will head up the event road past the car bridge then left onto the event path a full lap then left, back onto the event road to transition once they have finished the 2nd lap head back onto the island by turning left and back into transition to head out on the final 1.25 km run before heading to the finish line.
NOVICE and TINLIDS RACE
The Novice and Tinlids Duathlon is a great way to get into the sport if you are not sure. You must be at least 10 years old and less than 100 ;) With a 1 km run to start with, then one full lap of the 6km bike leg, into transition and finish with a 1km run. You should be all done and dusted in about 30 mins. Parents are able to ride with their kids when safe to do so.

We are working closely with Venues and Stakeholders to ensure a safe return to racing, as the situation is changing constantly, we will update information as it comes to hand. COVID - 19 has changed race day procedures for the future, small adjustments will have to be made by athletes, volunteers, race organisers, spectators and race venues, but we are all working hard to put forward the best race experience possible. If the event is cancelled due to COVID 19 will postpone or refund all but $5 of your entry.
