The ENEC Liwa Cycling Challenge returns to the Liwa on Saturday 8th January 2022 with 2 challenging ride options to choose from.
The 95km ride will take riders into the town of Liwa and, for the first time in many years, we will climb the road to the royal palace before turning and heading back through the town past the Tamm Centre heading out via farmlands to Moreeb Dune.
After completing the lap of Moreeb Dune riders will return back to the E90 towards the Liwa Hotel. Riders competing in the intermediate will turn in and make the climb to the hotel finish, whilst long course riders will head past the hotel and make their way into the farmlands via the short sharp climb affectionately known as the 'wall'. Climbing the 'wall' and then heading out into the farmlands behind the Royal Palace - this section of the course requires both stamina and good climbing legs for the next 20km with twists and turns as riders make their way back to the E90 roundabout taking the 3rd exit and heading towards the Liwa Hotel for the final climb to the finish.
The Liwa Intermediate is just under 75km in distance with the long course measuring approximately 95km with 1,100m of climbing.
Start and Finish location is the Liwa Hotel (Location Map) which is approximately 2hrs 20 minutes from Abu Dhabi.
We are pleased to announce there is now a 'FREE' campsite option available in Moreeb Dunes for those wishing to camp overnight on Friday the 7th.
