The International Half Marathon Competition in general is held every two years, organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations for the national teams. A country is chosen to organize this race based on the running course, location, and atmosphere.

Al-Khobar International Half-Marathon Race will be held annually under the supervision and recognition of the International Association of Athletics Federations, which will support and further the sport of running and will raise the ceiling of ambition of the people of Saudi Arabia to organize such an international event. We aspire to continue holding the Al-Khobar International Half Marathon annually in Al-Khobar Governorate in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be a sporting, cultural, touristic event with social responsibility in the region and also as a preparation to participate in international forums and achieve the necessary qualifying times.

There will be 3 race events as follows: 

Half Marathon Official Race Event (21.1 KM)

8 KM Amateur Race

3 KM Family and Special Needs Race

 

Terms & Conditions

Khobar International Half Marathon 

General terms for all: –

  • From inside Saudi Arabia only:
    • All citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are entitled to participate.
    • All participants must be immunized (recovered or immunized two doses or immunized dose) according to the requirements and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that are constantly updated in this regard.
  • From outside Saudi Arabia only:
    • All persons allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are entitled to participate. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they are able to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in accordance with the latest COVID-19 and Quaruntine Countries updated regulations as communicated by the Saudi Arabian Authorities. 
    • The corona test (PCR) must be presented before the subscriber enters one of the Kingdom’s ports, no more than 48 hours, or according to the updated Ministry of Interior regulations in this regard (review the conditions for entering the Kingdom from the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
    • The nationality and destination should be among the countries whose citizens and residents are allowed to enter the Kingdom.
  • Prizes will not be delivered until after the results of the doping test
  • The modest dress should include covering the arms and legs of the ladies.
  • The given numbers have special segments for the race (tampering with them cancels the result)
  • To be medically fit and to sign a pledge that the organizers will not be held liable for any injury that may occur to him during the race, while ensuring his physical fitness.
  • Respect for fair competition.
  • All amounts and fees paid are non-refundable.

Pro Race (21km)

  1. The contestants must be over 18 years old.
  2. For participants under the age of 16 years old, parental permission is requried. 

Amateur Race (8 km)

  1. Only for amateurs - no professionals or club participants allowed. 

Elderly and People with Special Needs Race (3km)

  1. The age requirement is 65 years and over for the elderly category.
  2. Children 10 years and under are eligible to enter the race. Must be registered with parent permission.
  3. The approval of the organizing committee to accept the type of disability.
  4. To be medically fit to run the race and to sign an undertaking that the organizers will not be held liable for any injury that may occur to him during the race, while ensuring his physical fitness.
