This 5K event is a collaboration of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA and volunteers from our Scotch Plains Fanwood PTA. It is a Virtual Run, which means you can run/walk the 5K or 1-mile Fun Run and record your time into our system. We will allow runners to enter their time between May 5 and 12, 2021. Emails will go out the week before the race with the link to enter your times.
The United for a Cause 5K is a collaboration of the YMCA and the Scotch Plains-Fanwood PTA Council. Proceeds of the race will benefit the Y's LIVESTRONG(r) at the YMCA program for cancer survivors and fund a Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School Scholarship for a graduating senior pursuing interest in a health-related field.
Since the inception of United for a Cause 10 years ago, 357 cancer survivors have completed the Y's LIVESTRONG(r) at the YMCA program, and $15,000 has been awarded to nine high school students for their education. Together, we are making a difference in our community.

Please see cost below for race. Participants will receive goodie bags (while supplies last) that can be picked up at the Y prior to the race date. More information on bag pickup will be sent out prior to May 5. All runners who submit their time also will be entered into a raffle to win a prize.
