A. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT:

A.1 Description of the competitions and the technique

Nordic walking, also known as "NW" for short, was used as a training method for cross-country skiers and hikers. The use of special Nordic walking sticks resulted in a full body workout in which the entire muscles of the upper and lower body are used. A constant step cycle is achieved through the permanent use of the sticks. It is important that the sticks are used clearly and actively. The foot must always feel the contact with the ground. (e.g. the right stick always touches the ground when the left heel touches down, the left stick when the right heel touches down), whereby at least one foot must always be in contact with the ground. Loss of ground contact with both feet at the same time is not permitted. The sticks are brought close to the body. The pole should always be used below the body's centre of gravity, i.e. in the step position on the vertical body axis. The locomotion can be done diagonally or in the double-deck technique. It is crucial that at the end of the step the push-off leg and arms are straight. The arm must be used behind the hip or beyond when pushing off.

No walking step with hip tilting or creeping step is permitted! Every athlete can take part in the Bavarian, German and European championships!

The prerequisite is that he has mastered the Nordic walking technique and can implement it.

Requirement for the evaluation, for the places in the championships, as well as for the places in the age group evaluations, is that the athlete, depending on the run (Bay. M, DM, EM), is holding a separate club membership or can prove official residency in the country of the championship (Bavaria, Germany) or in a country of the European Union.

Otherwise the athlete can participate but will be excluded from the evaluation / placement.

For the Nordic Walking runs for beginners and ambitious people there will be no ranking and the use of technology, club membership and residence will not be relevant.

When using the Nordic Walking technique, the following must be observed:

a) Put down and push off the sticks in accordance with the walking rhythm.

b) Extensive arm movement when passing the trunk, while the grip of the stick decreases at the end of the swinging movement.

c) Special Nordic walking sticks are to be used while walking.

in Nuremberg, under the GNFA, according to ENWO rules, hereinafter referred to as BM, DM EM, EA for short, I accept the organizers' disclaimer of liability for damage of any kind.

I will therefore not assert claims against the organizers and sponsors of the run, nor against the city of Nuremberg and the Bavarian State Forests or their representatives, for damage and injuries of any kind that I have suffered through participation in the afore mentioned events (BM, DM, EM EA).

I declare that I have trained sufficiently and that I am physically healthy and fit to participate in this event.

I agree to observe the currently applicable legal requirements and generally recognized hygiene rules (corona pandemic) and, if necessary, to implement necessary protective measures on my own responsibility and without being asked.

I agree that the data mentioned in my registration, the photos, film recordings and interviews made by me in accordance to my participation in the event on radio, television, social networks, advertising, books, photomechanical reproductions without compensation claims and without my consent may be used on my part.

I confirm that the date of birth I have given is correct and that I will not give my start numbers to anyone else.

The start list / registrations can be viewed on the my race result registration page at www.raceresult.de.

There will be no reimbursement of the participation fee in the event of no-show.

Passing on start numbers (exchange or re-registration) is not permitted.

A.4 First aid

A participant must immediately terminate his participation in the competition if he is instructed to do so by a member of the medical care team appointed by the organizer.

This also applies to non-compliance with and violation of the currently applicable legal requirements and generally recognized hygiene rules (corona pandemic).

A.5 Clothing and starting numbers

a) During the competition, each participant must have their start numbers visible

the chest and back.

b) The start numbers on the participant's clothing must match the numbers on the start list.

c) It is recommended that participants do not wear wide jogging suits to ensure a fair assessment by the judges. The sportswear of the participants should be as close to the body as possible.

A.6 Corona pandemic hygiene measures

Due to the current corona pandemic, it is necessary on the part of the organizer, as well as other companies involved in the event, to create a hygiene concept in accordance with the currently valid legal requirements for such sporting competitions and to apply this at the event.

The entire event takes place in the open air, in the middle of nature, whereby the integration of spatially closed structures is deliberately avoided.

The event is planned for 2 days, with different times and runs, all of which were limited by the maximum number of participants to 99.

The large-scale event area, with a circular route of around 3.3 km, will be developed via the existing streets and around 300 parking spaces, which will be blocked off separately.

This means that there is always spatial separation, access, parking spaces, competition routes, spectator areas, supplies, and competition-related infrastructure.

In addition to the health survey on the day of the competition, the body temperature measurements and the provision of face masks (which you should always take with you and apply when necessary). Protective devices are created at all contact areas (information, issue of documents, registration, food ...). In the back area at the start there will be a setup room for all athletes in a run, which will specify the minimum distances to other athletes and, after a run-time-oriented setup of the participants, will lead them to a distance-based two-person start with a time lapse of at least 5 seconds.

Thus, the required distance situation is already initiated at the start, which will result in a further equalization of the field of participants due to the time-shifted start and the route profile.

Overtaking maneuvers must always be carried out on the left, in the direction of travel and in compliance with the minimum distances, which will also be observed at the refreshment stations and trainer zones.

Only closed beverage containers can be accepted at the refreshment station, which is why it is also possible to provide your own drinks.

Opening speeches, instructions and award ceremonies will take place in large, open areas and still allow the option of wearing mouth and nose protection.

There will be suitable sanitation and disinfection facilities on the event site.

Spectators can use designated and suitable areas along the max. 3.3 km long circuit at a sufficient distance from the athletes and from each other.

For all of the measures listed, all participants and visitors are requested to observe the hygiene requirements and the legal regulations applicable at the time of the event, including the necessary personal sensitivity for the specified corona-related protective measures, or to implement them independently.

The implementation of and compliance with the protective measures is monitored on and along the routes depending on the situation and, if not observed, can lead to disqualification and eviction from the event site.

B. TO THE COMPETITION:

B.1 Start

Due to the current corona pandemic, the start will not be carried out in divided starting blocks in a mass start system!

After the athletes have been set up in a separate area in front of the start, taking into account the minimum distances, only two athletes will always start together and then at least 5 seconds apart the next two, again taking the minimum distance into account, will go onto the track.

Therefore, the athletes have to sort themselves into the designated display areas in advance, based on their own running results.

The evaluation of every athlete is done by a chip time measurement (start number) by the company runningConcepts.

The start takes place in groups of two by a start signal.

The individual runs of the championships (Bay. M, DM, EM) in Nordic Walking provide for license-free participation.

The maximum walking times are

12.09.20:

EM 21.2 km: start at 9:00 a.m., cut-off time at 12:30 p.m.

E 2.6 km: start at 1:00 p.m., cut-off time at 2:30 p.m.

A 5.2 km: start at 2:45 p.m., cut-off time at 5:00 p.m.

13.09.20:

BM 5.2 km: start at 8:30 a.m., cut-off time at 9:45 a.m.

BM 10.0 km: start at 10:00 a.m., cut-off time at 12:00 p.m.

DM 16.4 km: start at 12:15 p.m., cut-off time at 3:00 p.m.

B.2 Scoring

The time evaluation is done by a chip built into the start numbers. This is activated at the start and finish. In addition, each round is counted. In the end, the net time counts.

As a result, it is not the first to cross the finish line that wins, but the Nordic Walker who sets the net best time.

According to the DLO, the classes are based on the age group 2004. The evaluation is carried out in the runs (Bay. M, DM, EM) from 3 walkers per age group at the finish. If less than 3 walkers participate in the age group, they can be rated in the next younger age group. It can be downgraded once. If there are still no 3 walkers in the rating, everyone will be rated separately in their age group.

Exception: youth evaluation can be evaluated in general class.

The ranking for the listed championship runs is as follows:

5 years (young people, girls and boys, women and men 16-20 years, women and men 21-30 years, then women and men, 31 to 90 years, again every 5 years).

B.3 Rule violations and disqualifications

For this purpose, a main referee and further referees are appointed as required.

Main competition judge:

a) The main competition referee is entitled to disqualify any participant if his mode of movement is clearly inconsistent with the provisions in paragraph A.1, regardless of whether and how often the participant has already been warned.

b) The main competition judge is entitled to disqualify a participant and / or his companion if one or both persons act contrary to the provisions in paragraphs B.3, B.6 and B.7.

Referee / marshals:

Course marshals are provided by the organizer / host. These are used in large numbers to secure the route. Instructions are always to be followed. They pay attention to compliance with the Nordic Walking rules and techniques and can warn or disqualify the athlete at any time. They are subordinate to the main referee in every decision.

B.5 Timing

The time measurement is ensured by the companies runningConcepts and my race result. They provide the necessary timekeepers and recorders to carry out the events. The individual lap times are recorded. This is necessary for a correct measurement of the net times and results.

B.6 Catering and coaching

On the route there is a refreshment station not far from the finish area and another, about halfway, at the highest point of the route. The running route will pass at a sufficient distance to the refreshment points and the trainer zones.

The catering and coaching areas are marked by zones that extend over 30/15 meters in front of and behind the catering / coaching station.

In these zones, the use of poles and the technology are suspended.

The arm movements of the participants are not controlled by the competition judges. No running - only walking is allowed!

In this zone the athlete can:

a. Pick up drinks (only in closed containers, which must be disposed of in the containers provided in the refreshment area)

b. Exchange sticks if they break

c. communicate with trainers

d. Drink your own drinks or have them handed to the participant directly by authorized persons (which is then only possible in the trainer zone)

Furthermore, in addition to the refreshment zones, 2 trainer zones with a length of 15 m will be set up. In these zones it is possible to exchange defective equipment, communicate with the trainer and take up food.

You are free to move around in the catering and trainer areas.

No running - only walking is allowed!

B.7 Broken stick

If a stick breaks, the walker can walk in the walking direction to the next trainer station / refreshment station! The walking technique must not be changed or disregarded! All information about the movement as in point A.1. described (with a stick at this point). At these stations the walker / athlete is allowed to exchange or repair the sticks.

B.8 material

a) Sticks:

Nordic walking sticks are used to optimally perform the technique. The forearm and upper arm should be approximately at right angles (100 degrees - tolerance +/- 5 cm)

b) Electronic equipment:

In principle, devices of all kinds can be used, provided that they do not disturb other participants (exception: headphones and earplugs!)

c) Drinking container:

Personal drinking containers may be used. Participants can also drop off their own drinks at the refreshment stands. Disregard for technology when drinking.

on cordoned-off and signposted laps (depending on the run, Basic Route 2,610 m, Extended Route A 2,661 m and Extended Route B 3,277, with different numbers of laps) to the total route lengths of 2.6 km, 5.2 km, 10.0 km, 16.4 km, and 21.2 km.

About 670 m after the start, a terrain-related step system with different gradient ratios is integrated into the course of a steep section of the route. Here, too, the technique rating will be suspended, as in the catering and trainer zones.

Before the competition, the routes were measured with a measuring wheel (guided in the middle of the route), which can lead to deviations (GPS).

The measurement protocol and the route are published separately.

B.10 conduct

With the consent and under the supervision of a competition judge, a participant may leave the course, provided that the distance to be covered by the participant is not shortened.

If the main competition referee of the event is informed by a competition referee that a participant has left the marked route in a shortened manner and if he considers a disqualification to be justified, he can pronounce this disqualification.

It is expected that all persons who actively or passively participate in the Nordic Walking event behave ethically, morally and socially appropriately and in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and hygiene regulations with regard to the corona pandemic and everyone should behave responsibly.
