After getting hit with the news of not being able to conduct our annual War at the Shore Triathlon n(June, 2021) event, we did our best to bring the race to the Jersey Shore in 2021. Normally it takes close to 100 hours to be able to secure a new event like this and be able to fit it in with an already full fall schedule. Many spring events postponed to the fall.
On that note, We really thought we were going to be able to hold the event at Sandy Hook, but we just learned that they cannot accommodate our event this year. The proposed event date was going to be October 9th. We had another option to conduct a Duathlon at Ft Monmouth, this did not unfold.
The good news is, we are now working hard to secure location(s) for the 2022 event. I say locations becasue we have two possible race sites proposed at this time and are considering holding them both. Proposed dates are May 1, 2022 and September 25, 2022, two separate locations, possibly two races.
The tough part is we need to be able to let people make a choice on their already paid for entry fee. Many participants had entered the event as far back as November or December of 2019, then carried over because of the pandemic. We had almost 200 additional entries this year until we found out that it would be impossible to conduct the event this year in the City of Long Branch.
With this email, we are giving all of the paid participants the opportunity to make one of three choices.
NOTE: We kindly ask that participants DO NOT challenge your credit card charges as this is very costly for us plus we have already spent thousands of dollars this year that does NOT carry over, not to mention countless hours trying to make things work, for both 2020 and 2021 seasons. Believe me, this is the last thing we wanted to have happen this year, but it was out of our control.
We thank you for understanding and being patient during these times.

Note: We have already sent out over 350 refund checks for both the War at the Shore and the Jersey Girl Triathlons since cancellations in 2020. Offering this option for the War at the Shore will increase that number by a great deal. We hope you understand the amount of work involved in doing this and also trying to secure new venues.
We THANK YOU for being patient during this time.
