Race Details:
The Cranford Jaycees Firecracker 4 miler and Fun Run will be virtual runs in 2020. You can run or walk any distance at any location to be part of this year’s Firecracker.
We will have the traditional 4 mile category, a 1 mile fun run category and a new Open Run category. The open run category allows you to choose the distance you run on the day, this can be as short or as long as you desire or feel up to.
When you register, you will be emailed a personal link to record your run time directly into our system. Group entries will be able to enter all the times on one page for their family. Once you have finished your run, you just use that link to enter your time and distance (for open run). For possible prize winners, you will need to upload your timing app or run mapping program "URL" of your run in the MapLink Field. This is not needed or required of anyone else except possible award winners. Once you upload your time see how you did compared to other runners in the Results section. Adding a time is not mandatory, if you want to just run for fun that is absolutely fine too.
As usual, July 4th will be the official race day. Follow the Cranford Jaycees Facebook page for information on additional elements of the event we plan to organize for the big day. As it is a virtual event this year, we plan to leave registration open until July 7th and you have up until July 12th to perform your run and upload your time.
Race Prizes:
We will have prizes this year for the fastest male and female over the traditional 4 mile race distance. The 4 mile distance does not have to be run on the traditional Firecracker course, but to be eligible for these prizes, your time must be recorded on a sports watch/device and uploaded using the MapLink Field, into the race results system for purposes of verification of your time .

Race Entry:
For all entries received by June 22nd, shirts and pints will be available for pick-up prior to the race.
For anyone who registers after June 22nd, we will have a secondary pick-up date post-race, so you can still get your souvenir race shirt.
* All entrants will receive a shirt. however due to the changes we have had to make to the event this year, we cannot make an accurate estimate of the number of shirts that we will need, and hence we have had to split the shirt order.

Race Fundraising
All proceeds from this year’s race will go towards the Jaycees Scholarship fund and other beneficiaries from our general fundraising fund. Some of our fundraising events have already been cancelled this year and all proceeds from the race will be used to fulfill our charitable commitments.
