The cranes are here, spring has sprung, it's that time of year!
We can't hold our traditional Mother's Day Migration Run as planned, so we've set up this virtual race.
We hope that wherever you are you're getting outside and staying active. This event can hopefully be a motivator to get out and enjoy a friendly competition while still practicing good social distancing.
If you aren't in Homer you can complete your run anywhere and anytime, just so it's a full 5K (3.1 miles). We'll have the official course marked with sidewalk paint if you choose to run your 5k on the actual course. This is a USATF certified 5k, flat, point to point course along the Homer Spit trail starting at the Homer Spit fishing lagoon, and finishes near the base of the spit.
You'll need to enter your time before the deadline at 8pm on 5/10.
This virtual run is free, but we do suggest a donation, the proceeds benefit the local youth running programs. Your registration confirmation will include a link to enter your run time, and a link to make a donation. You can alsoDONATE HERE
This would also be a great time to join our club or renew your membership. Membership in the Kachemak Bay Running club directly supports the club’s mission of promoting running and walking as a healthy activity in our community. As a special bonus if you renew or join before May 10 we'll send you a free KBRC Buff. RENEW HERE
