Silchester VE Fun Run Saturday 9^th May 2020.

In honour of VE Day 75^th Anniversary, Silchester Fun Run committee have designed a new medal to pay tribute to a very important milestone in our History; the day that brought peace in Europe following nearly six years of war.

Help us make it a day to remember and enjoy the Silchester VE Fun Run remembering all those that played such a vital part in bringing Europe to peace.  

Run along a piece of English Heritage with friends and family. The course will take you through inspiring trails in ancient natural woodland, and along the roman wall that once enclosed the Roman town of Calleva Atrebatum.

The fun run has something for everyone, offering a multi terrain 5 mile route for the more adventurous, and a 2.5 mile route for mixed ability runners, families and walkers.

As usual there will be the traditional fun zone accompanied by the Scooby-Doo MC van and music, car parking, bike racks, BBQ, the Pop-Up Café selling cakes and refreshments and a bar selling real ale, lager, cider and wine.

Entries are available online up until midday Friday 8^th May and on the day, subject to availability.

New VE Medal Design, Water and Banana for all finishers, plus Trophies for the following categories;

2.5mile Race

12 and Under Boys 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place

12 and Under Girls 1^st , 2^nd and 3^rd place

5mile Race

Male 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place

Female - 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place

16 and Under Boys- 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place

16 and Under Girls- 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place

Male Vet - 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd (50 and over) place

Female Vet - 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd (50 and over) place

Chip timing will provide you with a printed race time and all results will be available online shortly after the event.

There are two races available at this event either the 2.5 mile Fun Run or the 5 mile Trail Run, please ensure you enter into the correct race.
