The RAF Shawbury 10k Airfield Race will take place on Sunday 29th February 2020 starting at 10am.
The main 10k race will be followed by a Fun Run which will be approximately 2k.
Celebrating 100 years of the Royal Air Force, RAF Shawbury will be hosting its fourth10k airfield race in 2020.
RAF Shawbury is home to several Ministry of Defence elements including the Defence Helicopter Flying School and School of Air Operations Control. The race will take place on a fully operational airfield, offering a flat, open, closed-circuit course on well-maintained hard surfaces, including taxiways and runways, making it a perfect opportunity for a PB. All profits from the event will be in aid of the RAF100 Appeal.
The race will be chip-timed. Chips and race numbers will be issued on the day and are to be returned at the end of the race. All participants will receive a medal and a goody bag. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers, and age category winners. The minimum age for entry is 18.
We will also be hosting a Fun Run which will be open to children aged 16 and under. All participants will receive a medal and a goody bag. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers, and age category winners.
