RACE SUPPORT

MEDICAL SUPPORT

  • Awal Bros and Batam Public Hospital are providing ambulances to follow each peloton
  • We have 3 additional Singapore medics and a nurse, plus an ambulance on standby in Singapore
  • While we can be there in an emergency, we need you to reduce the chances by:
    • Ensuring you are hydrated and keep hydrated throughout the race
    • Coat up in sunscreen, the road is exposed
    • Stop and seek assistance if you are suffering any heat effects or chest pains
    • Keep aware of the road around you, look ahead and call out to pre-empt any dangers
    • Think of your team and your other cyclists around you

WATER SUPPORT - START WITH 2 FULL BOTTLES

  • Mobile drink support starts at 30km from the ferry terminal and will stop 10km before the finish
  • Bottles contain either Water or Pure Electrolyte – please call out what you want
  • Static drink stations (A: 50km, B: At the turn-75km, C: Caution opposite side of the road-100km)
  • There are also village shops along the way but you will need local currency.

DO NOT THROW YOUR BOTTLES - Please exchange your empty bottles for full bottles. There are 1000 bottles for all categories, which is 4 per rider and you will need to drink more than that across the race. We will need to recycle and ask for your assistance to exchange your empty bottles for full ones.

MECHANICAL SUPPORT

  • A Maxxi Bike mechanic will be on hand for last minutes fixes and tuning
  • Limited Rolf Prima neutral wheels will be in the support cars
  • We strongly suggest bringing your own spare tube, tire levers and pump

RACE CUT OFF

  • Due to time constraints we will need to “cut off” the race at a reasonable time. We will run the timing system as long as possible. In the event of a major storm, timing may need to cease earlier.
  • A sweeper truck will follow Category 3. If the sweeper team encourage you to “jump in”, they are politely telling you it’s time to head for a shower, hydration and food.
