Entry & Eligibility
EligibilityOpen to MSA registered swimmers (100 reserved places). Non-members may enter 2 weeks after entries open, or once reserved places are filled.
Entry Fee$50 (MSA members) or $55 (non-members), plus transaction fee. Includes swim cap, insurance, post-swim fruit, and medals for age-group placegetters.

RefundsRefunds only considered before closing date (10 July). Email Event Director with reason. No refunds after closing date.

Important Rules & Safety
Compulsory race briefing is conducted on board the Sealink ferry at 8:50 am. All swimmers must attend. No exceptions.
No devices aiding speed, endurance or buoyancy (except wetsuits)
No watches or jewellery to be worn
Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed
Wetsuits permitted — but wearing one relinquishes age-group eligibility
Water temp below 18°C makes wetsuits compulsory (historically ~21°C in July)
All MSA open water guidelines apply
Minimum age is 18 years on the day of the event — MSQ rules require a swimmer to be 18 before competing in any swim meet

Swimmers counted as they enter the water from the ferry, then proceed to in-water start line
First Aid station at finish line on Strand Park Beach
