THE GKI (TRAIL RUN)

Registrations close Friday 5th June at midnight. No registrations will be accepted after this time.

“The GKI” is one of the Fitzroy Frogs’ marquee events that invites intrepid souls to taste the magic of Great Keppel Island, 14km off the Central Queensland Coast. The course has something for everyone and comes in distances ranging from 9.5km through to the Full Keppel’s 27km. Visit beaches, climb mountains and take in spectacular views. You decide your distance during the event; as long as you are back at the Hideaway by 2pm.

Participants are instructed to carry at least 1L of drinking water, basic nutrition, a mobile phone and a bandage as there are no aid stations out on course. Marshals will be stationed at checkpoints to log your progress.

Participants and supporters are encouraged to stay on the island but our special ferry transfer from Rosslyn Bay Harbour will get you to the island 45 mins before the fun begins.

8:00am - Event starts from GKI Hideaway
2:00pm - You must be back at GKI Hideaway by this time

Event Registration Cost: (Ferry transfer NOT included)
Child (aged 9-17) = $35
Adult (aged 18+) = $55
NOTE: Registrations not accepted for participants aged less than 9 years on 31/12/2026. Participants under 12 years must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times.  Families (2 Adults, 2 Children 9+) are invited to send an email to frogstri@gmail.com to receive a discount code.
Triathlon Australia members receive a $20 discount when registering (TA insurance being used for this event).

Ferry Transfers
​Keppel Konnections is once again putting on a special morning service which will depart Rosslyn Bay Marina at 6:30am, getting you to the island about 45minutes before the event starts, enough time for check-in and race briefing. All ferry transfers to be booked via their website.
