Welcome to the Inaugural BillBone Open Water Challenge — a brand-new, organized and safe ocean swimming experience in the pristine waters of Oceanfront Beach Park, Ocean Ridge, Florida. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer, a first-timer, or just want to experience the magic of open water swimming, this first-year event welcomes everyone!

🏆 2-Mile Ocean Swim Premium challenge for experienced swimmers in beautiful coastal waters.

🥇 1-Mile Ocean Swim Perfect for intermediate swimmers. Great training distance with professional support. *14-18 experienced youth only: Must have prior pool/ocean mile proof

🛟 Safety & Support Plan
- Professional Safety Team: Multiple lifeguards stationed along the course
- Support Boats: Dedicated observation and rescue boats monitoring all swimmers
- First Aid Station: On-site medical personnel and AED equipment
- Mandatory Safety: All swimmers must wear a bright swim cap (provided or approved color); PFD/tethered device recommended for less experienced swimmers
- Turn-Around Buoys: Clearly marked course with distance markers
- Buddy System: Encouraged for all swimmers; group starts organized by pace
- Weather Monitoring: Real-time water & weather conditions; event adjustable for safety
📋 Registration & Fees
Entry Fees (increases by $10 by June22nd)
- Half-Mile Swim: $45 (includes mandatoy USA Triathlon $9 insurance fee)*
- 1-Mile Swim: $55 (includes mandatory USA Triathlon $9 insurnace fee)*
- 2-Mile Swim: $65 (includes mandatory USA Triathon $9 insurnace fee)*
*Plus $6.50 service and merchant fee.

🕐 Race Day Schedule
- 6:00 AM: Check-in Opens | Packet Pickup
- 7:00 AM: Mandatory Safety Briefing
- 7:15 AM: 2-Mile Swim Start (mass shore start)
- 7:25 AM: 1-Mile Swim Start (mass shore start)
- 7:35 AM: Half-Mile Swim Start (mass shore start)
- 10:30 AM: Post-Race Celebration & Awards located on the plaza
🏊 Swim Course
Two-Mile Swim Course (2 full laps)
Swim straight out, keeping the first orange buoy to your left, round it and continue north, keeping the next buoys to your left side. At the final red buoy, swimmers round the buoy keeping it on their left side and continue back south keeping all yellow buoys to your left side. Pass the green buoy, keeping it on your right, and continue back to the first red buoy to start your second lap. Once back at the green buoy for the second time, round it, keeping it to your right side and head towards shore/finish line.
One-Mile Swim Course (1 full lap)
Swim straight out, keeping the first orange buoy to your left, round it and continue north, keeping the next buoys to your left side. At the final red buoy, swimmers round the buoy keeping it on their left side and continue back south keeping all yellow buoys to your left side. At the green buoy, round it, keeping it to your right side and head towards shore/finish line.
Half-Mile Swim Course (1/2 lap)
Swim straight out, keeping the first orange buoy to your left, round it and continue north, keeping the next yellow buoy to your left side. At the next red buoy, swimmers round the buoy keeping it on their left side and continue back south keeping the yellow buoys to your left side. At the green buoy, round it, keeping it to your right side and head towards shore/finish line.

- 🏊 Wetsuits Policy:

Under 78.1 wetsuits are allowed.

78.1°F to 83.9°F: Age‑group athletes may wear wetsuits, but anyone who does is not eligible for awards or rankings; they are placed in a separate wetsuit category or listed as participants only.

84°F and above: Wetsuits are not allowed due to overheating risk
- 🌊 Typical Water Temperature: Typically 79-82°F in June
