The Ipswich Twilight 10k event is one the region’s biggest and best-supported 10k races, attracting runners of all ages and abilities.
We are delighted to announce Ipswich Town Foundation* as our new charity partner for 2026! By supporting this charity, every step our runners take will help to open doors for young people and vulnerable adults to access a variety of development programmes - boosting confidence, wellbeing and community spirit.
For 2026, the event will once again start and finish among the appropriately sporty surroundings of Portman Road, home to Ipswich Town Football Club. The race follows a winding route from the stadium through Ipswich’s main shopping area and around its historic centre, passing landmarks such as the Corn Exchange and Town Hall on the way. A much-anticipated summer event, the Ipswich Twilight 10k is always warmly supported by spectators, who turn out in their hundreds to cheer on competitors as they weave their way through the town.
There are two other supporting events on the racing schedule – the Suffolk Schools mass participation Daily Mile and the Family Wave. These shorter races are designed to appeal to younger runners and to family groups.
*Ipswich Town Foundation is the charitable arm of Ipswich Town Football Club. Since relaunching in 2019, the Foundation has been providing impactful and inclusive activities to improve the health, skills, opportunities, and lives of all generations in communities across Suffolk. They deliver an innovative and inclusive range of programmes, activities and initiatives to address the needs of the community, reaching over 9,000 young people and vulnerable adults across around 30 diverse programmes delivered on a weekly basis.
By using the presence, power, and reach of Ipswich Town Football Club, the Foundation aims to build an empowered, inspired, and inclusive community to be proud of.
This vision is delivered across four key pillars:

1. How old do I need to be to enter the races?
With the exception of the Family Wave and Daily Mile, you must be at least 15 to enter the 10k. Please note that parental consent is required for all under 18’s and entry to the race implies that this has been granted.
2. When is the closing date for the races?
The closing date for entries will be the date of the event, or when the race limit has been reached, whichever comes first.
3. I’ve entered the race but can no longer come. Can I get a refund?
Entry fees are non-refundable. Entries cannot be deferred but can be transferred. Your entry will only be valid for the event you enter.
4. I’ve applied for the races but my details have changed. Do I need to inform you?
Please follow the link contained within your email confirmation.
5. Can I listen to music as I run?
Bone conduction sports headphones are the only headphones that are approved for use in all road races under the UK Athletics Rules of Competition. The use of traditional headphones (in-ear, over-ear and earbuds) are prohibited, and their use will lead to disqualification. Mobile phone running apps may be used at your own risk (without headphones/earphones) but we recommend mobile phones are carried in an appropriate arm holder. The organisers accept no responsibility for damage or injury caused.
6. How many races are there on the day?
7. I’m interested in the family fun run. Can you tell me more?
The family fun run is aimed at families or those new to fitness.
The child cost is for those aged 5- 12. Adult cost is for those 13 and over. Children under 5 and those in prams are welcome to join with a paying adult (No need to do an additional entry for those under 5). All under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
All paid entries will receive a medal.
