Welcome to the Information Page for the 8th Annual STAmpede!

The largest non-profit fundraiser for 2026 for the Sublette Trails Association (STA), the STAmpede is Pinedale’s only timed intergenerational nordic ski race. STA is proud to collaborate with a great team of local sponsors and partners to make the race successful in its 8th year. The STAmpede is now part of a new nordic race series serving western Wyoming and eastern Idaho, the Wydaho Nordic Ski Series.

Friday, January 23, 2026

• (All day) Course inspection (map below)

  • Use the maps to head out to the trails and check out the course!

  • Course is adjacent to White Pine Ski Area, located at 74 White Pine St, Pinedale, WY 82941.

• (3 pm - 7:45 pm) Racer check-in/bib pickup at the Pinedale Aquatic Center (PAC)

  • The Pinedale Aquatic Center (PAC) is located at 535 N Tyler Ave, Pinedale, WY 82941.

  • Onsite registration available for walk-on racers.

    • No guarantee of a swag bag if you are a walk-on.

Saturday, January 24, 2026

• (8 am - 9:30 am) Racer check-in/bib pickup at the course starting line (map below)

  • Last-minute registration for new racers begins at 8 am and closes at 9:30 am (cash or check only).

Nordic Warming Hut (Onsite - morning/midday)

• Thanks to the Sublette County Rec Board, the warming hut will be heated to warm up any cold fingers and toes!

• Nested West will have breakfast snacks, donuts, and hot drinks available for racers throughout the morning. 

• Official race sponsor, Four Pines, will provide physical therapy to racers after the race! Woo!

• A fire pit will exist by the starting line so fans can keep track of finishers while staying nice and cozy!

Costume Party Lap (Onsite - midday)

This year's suggested costume theme is 80's ROCK! (but wear any costume that makes you happy!)

• All racers that registered for other events can participate in the party lap for free!

• This is an untimed costume competition!

• Prizes to the top 3 best costumes! ​​

Pinedale Aquatic Center (afternoon - downtown Pinedale)

Want a shower, soak, or climb after the race? The PAC is offering FREE Saturday passes to racers! 

Where: The PAC is located at 535 N Tyler Ave, Pinedale, WY 82941

When: 10am to 4pm

• Entry fees for non-racers are at the PAC website.

• Tons of family friendly activities!

Awards Ceremony (evening - downtown Pinedale)

Where: The main lobby at Rendezvous Pointe in downtown Pinedale, located at 425 E. Magnolia St, Pinedale, WY 82941

When: 3pm to 5pm (ish)

• Awards:
  • Gold, silver, and bronze awards for each race length, gender, age bracket, and style. 
  • Awards for the costume party lap will be given out to the best costumes!!
• Food and drinks:
  • Light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks provided for free to racers and fans! 
  • Adult beverages available through free-will donations. All $$ goes to the Sublette Trails Assocation, 501(c)3!
• Two raffle types:
  • Lots of general raffle prizes can be won using the free raffle tickets that will be given to racers and fans at the door! 
  • Additional high-value raffle prizes can be won using special raffle tickets available for purchase. All $$ goes to the Sublette Trails Assocation, 501(c)3!
• Live music: 
  • Local band with lots of 80's rock covers! So, bring your dancing shoes

Other Important Information

• No dogs allowed at the event or awards ceremony.

• This event is authorized under a special use permit on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

• Safety of skiers will be ensured via volunteers with radios at course checkpoints as well as through White Pine Ski Patrol. 

• Port-o-potties and trash bins will be available on site so we can do our part to keep our forest clean! 

• When parking at the race course, please do not block the exit road for the White Pine cabins or other operations.
