2025 CASA Race for a Purpose 5K Walk / Run & Kid's Lightning Loop Fun Run

We're excited to announce the 2nd Annual Kid’s Discovery Day—Touch-a-Truck & Community Expo, and the new Pace for a Purpose 5K Walk/Run and Kid’s Lightning Loop Fun Run—presented by CASA of Wyoming Valley!

Join us Saturday, August 16, for a fun-filled day with vehicle exhibits, health and wellness resources, and family-focused organizations. Proceeds from the race support CASA’s mission to recruit, train, and support of CASA volunteer advocates who serve as a voice for the children in the dependency court system in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties.

• Distance: 5K Walk / Run - The Kid's Lightning Loop will be in the parking lot around the cars and trucks ath The Touch a Truck
• Pre-Registration $30.
• Pre-Registration ends 8/15/25. The first 100 pre-registrations receive an event tee. Additional event tees will be available durring checkout. 
• Same Day Registration $35
• A $6 processing & timing fee will be added to all registrations.
• Same Day Registration ends 8/16/25 @8:30am - Day of registrations will be by onsite express QR code registrations only, No paper forms will be avaiable. Credit cards, Paypal, Checks and Cash excepted. Please bring exact change.
• Race Check-in Begins 8/16 @ 7:30am
• Race Starts @ 9:00am
• Start / Finish - Friedman JCC 613 SJ Strauss Lane, Kingston, PA 18704 
• Onsite parking is available. 
• Running Awards - Overall Male & Female Winner, Age Groups Winners Male & Female
• The first 100 Pre-Registered Will Receive an Event T-Shirt.
• No refunds will be given.  Anyone who signs up and is unable to attend, their payment will be looked at as a donation.
