About the Event

After the great success of the inaugural Sark Triathlon in 2016, Mr Hester’s Sark Triathlon has become firmly established as a fantastic, friendly and fun way to celebrate the start of the Bailiwick’s triathlon season each year.

The unique Isle of Sark is the perfect location for a fun off-road triathlon. Stunning scenery, enthusiastic local support, and no cars! The 2024 edition has once again been kindly sponsored by Mr Hester’s, and a number of other Sark businesses.

Weekend Schedule: The start time of the event will be confirmed to ensure that triathletes can travel over on the first boat from Guernsey.

Bike Rental: As the Sark Triathlon is a fun race, we highly recommending that everyone hires bikes once on Sark, rather than bringing your own. In fact you will be given a time penalty if you bring your own bike! If you are travelling over from Guernsey on the morning of the race, if you catch the first boat, you will have time to collect your bikes and take them to T2 before the start of the race.

Please note that bike helmets are compulsory for every competitor during the race.

Race Entry: If you’re a member of the Guernsey Triathlon Club your entry is FREE, you will have to confirm your membership at sign-up. If you’re a non-member the fee will be £20 for an individual entry and £30 per relay team (please decide on a team name and enter this name during sign up).

The Race Detail:

Swim 250m (with wetsuits being mandatory)

Run 8km

Bike 14km

Fancy dress is encouraged!

The swim is usually in Creux harbour, but due to the early Easter holidays in 2024 and tidal restrictions, the swim will be in the Maseline harbour starting at 11:30. T1 will be by the ferry kiosk. Entrants will be grouped into three swim waves based on pace and confidence in the water, each wave setting off shortly after the previous wave. Please indicate your preferred swim wave during sign up (note we may need to switch some entrants around to balance the numbers in each swim wave)."

Wet gear will be transported to T2 along with your dry clothes bag. You will need to rack your bike and prepare T2 before heading off to the start with your swim and run gear.

Post race showers will be arranged. Post race celebrations will continue with an option to purchase food and important post-race hydration!

It wouldn’t be the Sark Triathlon without a post-race social. Having the opportunity for supporters and families to join in the after-race party is one of the things that makes this triathlon so special.

Getting Back: We recommend staying the night to enjoy the best of Sark, but if you can only manage a day trip we recommend getting the last ferry back to Guernsey (17:10).
