OCBC Cycle Singapore National MTB / AM / CX Championships 2018

Welcome

Welcome to the Singapore National MTB / All Mountain and Cyclo-Cross Championships 2018. To follow is a briefing that contains very important information about the day and rider responsibilities to ensure the event is safe and entertaining for riders and spectators.

 

Race Location - Jungle Cross @ Centaurs @ Turf City

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The event will be run at the Jungle Cross course which is part of Centaurs Sports Park located within Turf City. Please proceed past the old Granstands and look for the last field before the paintball area.

 

Here you will see 2 x Blue Netball Courts. There is parking here for participants as well as extra parking outside the Giant Supermarket. 

 

Please ensure the exit area is kept clear so that emergency services can easily leave the location if necessary.

Prize Giving Individual Prize Giving will follow 15-30 minutes after the each category has completed.

 

 

UCI Rules Apply

The Singapore National MTB Championships are run under UCI rules and regulations, and Singapore Cycling rules and regulations unless otherwise stated, apply.

This is event is a UCI Class CN, with UCI points available for:

  • Men's Open Elite

  • Women's Open Elite

  • Men's Junior A

  • Women's Junior A

  • Men's Under 23

  • Women's Under 23

 

CLOTHING

Hemets

It is compulsory to wear a protective helmet when racing or training on the course and such helmet must comply with the required safety standards defined in the UCI's / SCF's General Regulations.

 

Jersey

The cycling jersey or shirt must have either long or short sleeves. Sleeveless jerseys / singlets are not permitted.
 
 

STAGING AREA

Before every race (approx 15 mins before), the Commissaires will request all riders within the race to assemble within the Staging Area. Here the Commissaires will check riders, their clothing and equipment. Once ready each rider will be released to line up at the Start Line.

 

FEED / TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ZONE

Feeding is permitted only in the zones designated for that purpose, which are also used as technical assistance zones.

Water bottles and food must be passed up to the rider by hand by the feeder or the mechanic. The feeder or mechanic is not permitted to run alongside his rider. The spraying of water on riders or bicycles by the feeders or mechanics is forbidden.

Authorised technical assistance during a race consists of repairs to or the replacement of any part of the bicycle other than the frame. Bike changes are not permitted and the rider must cross the finish line with the same handlebar number plate that he had at the start.

Technical assistance can only be given in the feed/technical assistance zones.

Spare equipment and tools for repairs must be kept in these zones. Repairs and equipment changes can be carried out by the rider himself or with the help of a teammate, team mechanic or neutral technical assistance. Small items such as an inner tube or a small tool may be handed up from the feed/technical assistance zones.

Riders may carry tools and spare parts provided that these do not involve any danger to the rider himself or the other competitors.

 

PROTESTS

Any rider who considers he has been prejudiced by any action during the competition may submit a protest to the Chief/Race Commissaire after he/she has crossed the finish line. The rider must submit his/her protest in writing and it must be signed and presented within 15 minutes of the end of his/her race along with a fee of SG$200 to the SCF Secretariat.

If a protest involves one of the top five finishers, the awards ceremony will be delayed until the decision is reached. The decisions of the Commissaire Panel or Chief Commissaire on the day in relation to the interpretation of the Technical Regulations; necessary disciplinary action and upon any protests received in accordance with the above will be final.
